Homemade Love

My husband and I have a fun Valentine’s day tradition: we are not allowed to spend money on our gifts to each other. That is right–all homemade, all the time. I bet right now you are saying to yourself, “So not fair,” because you think I, the born-and-bred crafter/cooker, would outdo my corporate/executive husband.

Well, let me tell you how wrong you are. Year after year, my computer geek husband outshines me. Just take a look at what he did last year!

One bent up piece of copper wire, seemingly haphazardly stuck into a wall:

But he guides me in to show me his creation, shines a light on it, and voila! The classic Valentine wish is revealed:

Pretty good, right?

So here I am once again, days before Valentine’s without an idea in my head. Meanwhile, my husband has already begun taunting me that his Valentine idea this year is going to blow everything and everyone else away.

HELP…any brilliant ideas? Post them below or on Facebook or Twitter.

that is the sweetest “i love you” ever. i can’t even begin to imagine how you might be able to top it! and i’m pretty useless for suggestions…maybe you could fold the towels, bed sheets and napkins into origami hearts….yeah, no brilliance here but thought i’d give it a shot! i do hope you’ll share, i’m sure you’ll come up with something amazing. good luck! (2 days left…but no pressure).
