Cream Cheese Cherry Pound Cake
This is one of my newest and most favorite recipes. It is a quick bread that uses a jewel from my beloved upper peninsula of Michigan. Tart RED cherries. It is quick, It is easy and It is YUMMY!
Ingredients:
1 8oz. package of cream cheese softened
1 cup butter softened
1 ½ cup sugar
1/1/2 teaspoon vanilla
4 eggs
2 ¼ cups flour
11/2 teaspoon baking powder
1/8 teaspoon salt
1 cup pitted cherries
1 cup whit chocolate chips
Glaze
2 cups powdered sugar
3 tablespoons milk
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
Get Started:
Preheat oven to 325 degrees
Cream the butter vanilla cream cheese. Beat in one egg at a time.
Mix together flour baking powder salt and fold into cream cheese mixture
Fold in cherries and chips
Pour the mixture into a greased bunt pan and bake for 70 Minutes
In the meantime whisk all the ingredients together for the glaze and pour on top of the cooled cake.
