Simple Teacher Gifts

As we near the end of the school year, it’s about that time to thank the teachers who stuck with our kids through the bullies, indoor recesses, and endless snow days! We were lucky to have a wonderful teacher this year at my daughter Prentiss’ school. It’s always tough to be the new girl in town, but Prentiss had a truly supportive school. We’re so thankful and I definitely want to show my gratefulness with a touch of thoughtfulness.

If you think about these kinds of gifts early enough, they don’t have to be expensive or time-consuming. Shop around for materials on sale and have your child help you put it all together. Take a peek at these DIY gifts for that special teacher in your life!

No teacher gift is complete without a pencil!

A classic way to say thanks- great if your child has lots of teachers to thank!

Finally, a project for all those broken crayons…

For a last minute gift card…or you could put an instant coffee pack in there, too!

Chalkboard paint a small pot and fill it with a seed pack and note: “Thanks for helping me grow!”

Do you have a good idea for a teacher gift? A special recipe for chocolate chip banana bread for the bus driver? I’d love to know!

What clever ideas. I often get thank you letters from students and original drawings of the performances I give at a school. Those pics and thank you notes are better than expensive bought gifts and I have large boxes of these pictures stored away. I keep them all and often spend time looking through them. Simple is the best – do not even remember who gave me that expensive crystal bowl, but those pictures, drawings, etc.. bring back good memories more clearly.
