Simply International

While I was learning a little bit about New Years traditions in other countries, I started thinking that an Around the World New Years Eve party would be super fun and easy to put together. A few quick and simple party decor ideas and you’ll be on your way to throwing the international fete of the year!

Check out my finds for a 2011 “Around the World” celebration….or should I say “fiesta”?!

Order a paper or plastic version of this pretty banner for an instantly festive look! I would definitely reuse this one, too…
Set up a bowl of small silver bells (available at wedding supply stores and websites) to ring in the new year like the Japanese.

Paper lanterns brighten up the room and are a great project to do with kids.

Bring on the good luck with inexpensive custom fortune cookies for you and your guests.

Drop some party poppers in your guests’ shoes like they do in Greece for St. Basil’s Day. Make sure you grab them when midnight rolls around!

So now that I’ve got my party ideas down, I guess that means I have to work on those resolutions…What are your goals for the new year?

Happy happy 2011, everyone! See you next year…
