Simply Christmas Music
At this point in December, Christmas tunes are everywhere. Whether you’re in favor of the classics or a fan of new holiday hits, you can’t deny the good vibes attached to so many of these songs. I’ve started a running list of the ones I especially love so that I can make the ultimate Christmas playlist for my upcoming holiday meals (and no, for my own sanity, the very catchy Jose Feliciano’s “Feliz Navidad” did not make the cut this year!). Here’s what I’ve compiled…
1. Bing Crosby- “White Christmas”
2. James Taylor, James Taylor at Christmas– “Santa Claus is Coming to Town”
3. Trans Siberian Orchestra- “Carol of the Bells”
4. Glee Cast, A Very Glee Christmas– “O Holy Night”
5. Annie Lennox, A Christmas Cornucopia– “Silent Night”
6. Frank Sinatra- “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas”
7. Michael Buble- “The Christmas Song”
8. Josh Groban, Noel-“The First Noel”
9. Mariah Carey- “All I Want For Christmas Is You”
10. A Charlie Brown Christmas- “Christmas Is Coming”
11. Thurl Ravenscroft, Dr. Seuss’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas– “You’re a Mean One, Mr. Grinch”
12. Lena Horne- “Let It Snow!”
13. Eartha Kitt- “Santa Baby”
14. Ella Fitzgerald- “Sleigh Ride”
15. Leon Redbone & Zooey Deschanel, Elf (Music from the Motion Picture)– “Baby, It’s Cold Outside”
