Elegant Vanity Tray
MATERIALS
- 4 drawer pulls
- An oval mirror
- 2 drawer handles
- Glass etching cream in a squeeze bottle
- 4-6 artificial flowers
- Silicone based glue
- A hot glue gun
- Wire cutters
- Rubber gloves
- A long needle or pin
DIRECTIONS
Place mirror face down on your work surface and glue 4 drawer pulls to the back of the mirror. These become the feet of your tray.
Choose a word that makes you feel good. First make sure your mirror surface is clean and then write your word in etching cream across the top. If your bottle gets clogged with the cream (it has sand grits in it that do the etching), swirl your long pin around in the mouth of the tip to unclog.
Let the etching cream set for about 5 minutes and then wash it off. (The etching begins on contact, so be sure you know where you want your word.)
Glue drawer handles on the top of the mirror with silicone glue. This glue should set for 24 hours before it should bear any weight.
Remove heads off of artificial flowers either by simply pulling or clipping with wire cutters and make 1-2 small arrangement on the edges of your mirrored tray. Glue to mirror using hot glue gun.
