A Bag for BBQ

MATERIALS

  • Canvas tote bag
  • Canvas caddy
  • Leather cord
  • Anti-fray liquid
  • Snap tape
  • Heavy thread
  • Mesquite
  • Cheesecloth
  • Natural string
  • Hole punch
  • Awl
  • Scissors
  • Pinking shears
  • Needle
  • Pen

DIRECTIONS

  1. On the inside of the bag, sew in the snap tape about ¼ of the way down from the top.

  2. Cut the caddy into 3 rows—2 for the outside of the pack, one for the inside.

  3. With your awl make holes across the top and bottom of the caddy pockets to attach them to the bag. Cover the backs of the holes with anti-fray liquid and let dry.

  4. Start with the inside caddy pockets. Pin them in place. Mark the holes. Make holes with the awl and cover with anti-fraying liquid.

  5. Do the same for the outside pockets.

  6. Thread and knot the leather through the holes to secure the caddy pockets to the bag.

FOR THE MESQUITE BUNCHES

  • Cut cheesecloth into 8 inch square and fill with a handful of mesquite.
  • Tie with natural string. Store in you pack.
