Orange Bird Feeders
MATERIALS
- Orange
- Twine
- Sticks
- Wooden beads
- Knife
- Spoon
- A long nail
DIRECTIONS
- Cut off top of the orange, about ½ inch from the top of the orange and scoop out the fruit with a spoon.
- Using the nail, punch 4 holes through the orange rind, 2 directly across from each other; push sticks through for the bird to sit on. (The sticks will go through the orange rind parallel.)
- Tie a knot with the twine on each stick where the stick meets the orange. Gather the four pieces of twine and knot at the top. This becomes your bird feeder’s hanger.
- Knot four strands of the twine together to create a tassel. Decorate it by sliding small, wooden beads onto the twine and hold in place with a dab of glue.
- Punch a hole in the bottom of the orange with the nail and push the knot up through the hole in the orange so that it hangs.
