Flower Petal Stationary

MATERIALS

  • Watercolor paper
  • Thin flower petals
  • Paper towels
  • Scotch tape
  • Pen
  • Flat hammer
  • X-acto knife
  • Cutting board
  • Iron

DIRECTIONS

  1. Lay 3 pieces of paper towel on your cutting board.

  2. Place your watercolor paper on top of this stack of paper towels.

  3. Arrange petals and leaves to your liking, laying them top side down.

  4. Cover your arrangement carefully with one sheet of paper towel…make sure the petals stay where you want them.

  5. Pound with hammer using medium strength evenly over top of the petals or leaves. You will begin to see the pigment of the petals bleed through the paper towel.

  6. Remove paper towel cover and peel off petals carefully with a knife or with your fingernail.

  7. Pass warm iron over the design to set it into the paper.
