Simply Communal

I believe that sitting at a table and having a meal should be a very involved social activity – as food and dining always has a way of bringing people together.

For those of you who don’t know, I used to have a shop in Los Angeles called GOAT – where I would sell antique goods and host a supper club style dinner at a HUGE communal table.

Individuals and couples would come and feast on homecooked meals that my best friend Sarah and I would whip up in the back kitchen.

I loved watching new friendships blossom as complete strangers would connect over their favorite foods. While GOAT is no longer around, I still have a weakness for large communal tables at eateries like Le Pain Quotidian.
