Cheerio Bird Feeder kids craft DIY

There is nothing like being outside with my girls.
My Meredith loves to run and jump around. Getting her to sit with me and take a minute to look at the birds and the trees is not easy. So I am always inventing new ways to get her to be with me in the great outdoors.

This is a quick and easy snack for the birds that can easily hang on a tree. All it took was a box of Cheerios and some colored leather string.
She chooses blue while I stuck with brown. Little by little we threaded the Cheerios onto the leather. Meredith may have snacked a bit here and there but what the heck …one for her, three for the birds and so it goes …

To give it a bit more style I tie off a few more leather stings here and there along the main string and continue to add on the Cheerios. Use knots to secure the Cheerios in place.
Once you have enough for the birds to snack on, hang them here and there from your trees.

And there you have it! Another perfect moment for Meredith and I ….now that is not for the birds!

Remember life is better homemade.”
