Good Neighbor Basket
MATERIALS
- Large, open-weave basket
- Leather cord
- Thick ribbon
- Felt
- Clipboard
- Homemade calendar
- Scissors
- Hole punch
DIRECTIONS
Making the pocket: Cut a rectangle of felt two inches wider than your clipboard and one inch shorter than the height of your basket.
With a hole-punch, punch holes along the two long sides of the felt rectangle, spaced approximately one inch apart.
Cut the same number of 2-inch pieces of cord as the number of holes that you’ve punched. Tie the felt to the basket by threading each piece of cord through the punched holes and making a knot on the outside of the basket.
Decorating the basket: With your decorative ribbon, tie a knot on either side of the pocket and thread in and out of the basket weave as desired. Where the ribbon meets at the front of the basket, tie a bow.
Design a calendar that clearly states who cooks what meal and when, clip your calendar onto the clipboard, and insert in the pocket.
