Simply Friskies

Friskies (yes! the cat food company) asked the Workshop to design a sculpture out of Friskies cans to help raise money and awareness about recycling. We had tons of fun developing ideas… Should it be in the shape of a cat? A hot air balloon? A giant pie? After a little while we settled on a house composed of cans covered in sand (that we spray painted orange… of course!). We made the roof out of a wooden crate and covered the ‘ground’ with moss. You can bid on the finished product on eBay sometime next week. We’ll let you know when the auction goes live!

The creative process --- Visually, the prototype seemed cool. However, it was way too complicated to actually construct!
