Create no-slip soles
The sole of a new leather shoe can often be a slippery one. Here’s a way to get a grip, quickly.
Materials:
Sandpaper
Shoe
Instructions:
1. Scuff up the soles of your new shoes with sandpaper to create a rough surface that grips.
There’s no need to scuff too much. You simply want to texturize the smooth surface.
Stretch the shaft of your boot
The “one size fits all” theory never really seems to apply when it comes to tall leather boots. Fortunately, there’s a simple way to stretch them out.
Materials:
Rubbing alcohol
Cotton swabs
Instructions:
1. Swab the inside of your leather boot’s shaft with alcohol.
2. Put the boot on before the alcohol evaporates, so that the leather shaft molds to the width of your leg.
